Who would have thought that the Pussycat Dolls could sing like chipmunks?

Two days before Christmas, the sequel
to the highly-praised movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks” comes out in theaters.
“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” is a hilarious story of three
chipmunks who are very talented little creatures.
In the first “Chipmunks” movie, which was released in Dec.
2007, three young chipmunks with a knack for singing are discovered by Dave
Seville. Dave, a struggling songwriter played by Jason Lee, welcomes the
chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore, into his home on the condition that they
agree to sing songs for him. Alvin, the lead singer, is voiced by Justin Long.
As for Alvin’s two brothers and fellow band-mates, Simon is voiced by Matthew
Gray Gubler, and Theodore is voiced by Jesse McCartney.
The first movie received high fan
ratings and brought in $44.3 million during its opening weekend in the
theaters. “The Squeakquel” promises to be a big hit in the theaters as well.
The boys are in school for the first time in the new movie. When their new
school is in danger of losing its music program, the chipmunks come to the
school’s aid in a Battle of the Bands contest to win money for the program.
Their lives take an unexpected
turn when their hopes of easily winning the contest are compromised by The
Chipettes. The Chipettes are comprised of three girl chipmunks named Brittany,
Eleanor and Jeannette. The Chipettes chipmunks are voiced by Christina
Applegate, Amy Poehler and Anna Faris.
The movie’s producers
and new director Betty Thomas have not yet released information on whether or
not Jason Lee is reprising his role as Dave. It is known, however, that in “The
Squeakquel” the boys are in the care of Dave’s nephew, Toby, played by Zachary
Levi. The boys will go on a new journey and will learn the pressures of school
and stardom. Aside from trying to earn the $25,000 that their school needs to
keep the music program alive, the chipmunks will try their best to earn
millions at the box-office.
